For Sale: Lil Blue 64 Patina Bug

Original Paint – Sea Blue, Super SOLID – California car. Recently completed a very special and discreet restoration – Very well maintained low owner car. Speedo says 47800 and the car has original dealer service maintenance tags.

This is a well preserved SoCal bug, and will appeal to those like me who appreciate originality, and efficiency…..(this sweet 1200 64 bug will cruise at 70 all day)

The previous had stored the car for over 8 years on his Fontana driveway under a tarp. with the intention to restore and after the usual ear battering from the wife he sold to me…….this car is absolutely rock solid ZERO rust and seems to have had a sheltered and well maintained life and has seen very little rain…..

An absolute joy to drive – New dropped spindles and New ‘Old Speed’ 4 inch narrowed front beam(Proper quality item with the modded pitman arm and german king and linkpins) – tucked in and low up front, while the rear remains stock ride height…….the perfect stance…

ALL the 12V Electrics work perfectly, as they should, ie 12V flywheel and starter motor, 12V armature on wipers, 12v cig lighter for your gps or cell too.

Steel Sprintstars 4.5 inch front with new Conti 165/60 and 5.5 rears with new Nankang 165/SR tyres.

Interior:

Detailed and new throughout, New ‘Light Grey Deluxe’ seat trim and door panels… The doors were rebuilt completely, locks winders etc work perfectly and of course new rubber in the wind wings(quarter lights) so fully rebuilt. New German squareweave wool carpet, New Sunvisors and rear view mirror, New headlining and New rubber mats as per factory. Interior paint is all original too and in perfect, great condition.
Running Gear.

Is stock and original and matching numbers – Perfect running 64 Single port 1200 engine and 4.375 g/box, with a EMPI camber compensator – Recent service – ‘German’ exhaust, Newer heater boxes, New Pertronix in a 009 dissy with Bosch Black Coil. The brake lines, shoes and fluids are all new and rebuilt and of course work perfectly.

Exterior :

ALL NEW factory window/ door/ engine seals throughout. The front and rear bumper are original and straight. New Fender beading.
Front fender dinks have been repaired on driver’s fender and may need a faux patina job.

The headlights have been completely rebuilt with new bezels and lenses and repainted, all perfect to factory and are as new.
New Running Boards with original trim – New Stainless Body trim, aerial and wing mirror are NEW also.

Again, ABSOLUTELY ZERO RUST or HOLES virtually all original paint.

This is now a new reliable ‘as new’ car in a old shell – a very rare find.

Car has Cali licence to Mar 2014 and has its original peppered and beaten black plates (somehow untied to the car)…..super cool and super original….

I will consider a very special early Squareback or ragtop bug in px….original paint preferred but not essential. Price is 9500dollars ToSh
